Grower’s Insight

April, 2012
Spring seems to be off to an early start this year.  Our crops are coming in quicker than last  year.  Along with faster growth we are seeing higher numbers of insects in our greenhouse.  The mild winter has not lowered the insect populations this year.   Insects are not able to survive a colder winter.   Be ready more insects in your garden this year.   The main pests in Colorado are Thrips, Aphids, and Two Spotted Spider Mite.  There are many insecticides available through retail stores that can be safe and very effective against these pests.  If you do not want chemicals, there are many organic options available.  Do your research and have a plan before the pest cause damage to your plants.
